Automatic Splice Detector & Removal

Remove Splices within webbing automatically!

As many webbing manufacturers know, splices within special purpose webbing such as Mil-Spec, Climb-Spec, fall protection, and seatbelts can be extremely dangerous should they find their way into a finished product. All new models of our automatic webbing cutter may now be equipped to detect and remove dangerous splices within rolls or boxes of webbing. The detection process works with a special sensor adjusted to detect the splicing tape used to join the cut ends of webbing. This not only prevents the creation of faulty product, but can minimize the waste associated with splices at random locations with a bulk packaging.

The Splice Sensor will detect when a splice passes through the machine. The machine will then stop indexing, feed the splice to the knife and cut the webbing close to the splice. The waste webbing is NOT counted in the process.

Webcutter Hinges

Our hinges are one of the most important components of the Webcutter hot knife. They must allow free movement of the rotating knife without excess play for hundreds of thousands of cycles. These hinges have gone through several design improvements over the years, as shown below. To adjust them, note the video to the right of the hinge type.
